A project that EXEO – Software House in collaboration with ViLabs – Versatile Innovations took over to implement on behalf of Municipality of Edessa, a part of the program with the acronym “Cineculture” founded from Interreg, in order to represent the traditional area of Varosi in Edessa. The use of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality technology gave the opportunity to the visitors to have a virtual tour in the area as it was around 100 years ago.
For the implementation 3D models designed with their surrounding environment based in the photographic material which was collected over the years, the guidance of the architect Panteli Papathoma specialist in the restoration of traditional buildings and the documentation research of Zarkada Christina restoration architect from ephorate of modern monuments.

As a part of the program was the utilization of the restored building was called “house of Tsami” in order to present the cultural heritage of the city of Edessa.
Moreover, the building now is entitled as “House of Varosi” and virtual reality equipment was installed giving the opportunity to the visitors to experience the virtual tour, see presentation videos of the applications created for the program Cineculture and a Documentary about the tourism, places of interest and the history of Edessa.
The project eVarosi – Cineculture participated and awarded with the title of Golden Award in the category of “Virtual Tours of cultural sites and digital guides” in the competition of Best City Awards 2022 for the best practices and solutions that has been designed for the highlighting and improving the quality of life in cities.
The Mayor of Edessa Dimitris Giannou and collaborators was there to receive the award, share their vision and their experience which they had while the project was created.
Beyond is the first international stage for Industry in South Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean and the MENA region. The exhibition is designed to address today’s needs and become the melting pot of the world’s brightest minds, talents, and products.
